LIFT SU Writes

We are excited to share that LIFT SU Writes is back. LIFT SU Writes is a writing facilitation program designed for BIPOC faculty who wish to increase their productivity while developing a sustainable writing practice.

We will kick off the program with a virtual workshop facilitated by Professor Angelique M. Davis on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This workshop will be fully virtual. The workshop will include writing sessions, as well as sessions designed to assist in strategically planning how to organize not only productive writing but self-care. Following this workshop, we plan to host additional Write-on-Sites (in person) where faculty can gather informally to write together and support one another.

LIFT SU Writes is designed for BIPOC faculty based on the longstanding practice of utilizing affinity groups and caucusing to create spaces for support and healing. If you do not identify as BIPOC- no worries- we appreciate your support and understanding of our need for this space. While this program is not designed for you to participate in, we thank you for your understanding and hope you will continue to support the work on campus to dismantle racism in all its forms.

The Writing Retreats and Write-on-Sites are an opportunity for BIPOC faculty across the university to have dedicated "space" to work on writing goals in community with others. The initial January workshop will be held online, with follow-up Write-on-Sites sessions held in person.

*Please note: These events are open to all BIPOC faculty contracted with Seattle University. This includes full-time, part-time, term, and visiting faculty.
