Update to SU’s Face Covering Policy Now in Effect

March 28, 2022

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

Greetings to you as spring quarter begins. As has been the case throughout these past two years, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our campus community as we monitor and respond to current conditions.

We write today with an important update to Seattle University’s face covering policy. From now through Friday, April 8, face coverings are highly encouraged indoors regardless of vaccination status. After April 8, masks are encouraged indoors.

While COVID cases in King County have decreased over the past several weeks, new data show a recent uptick at a couple of colleges in other parts of the country. Against this backdrop and with many members of our campus community having just returned from traveling over spring break, we believe face coverings are an important additional layer of prevention for minimizing COVID cases at SU in the near term.

Register Your Booster

Just as critical to the continued health and wellbeing of our campus community is staying up to date on vaccinations. If you are eligible for a booster, please be sure to get vaccinated and register your booster here by Friday, April 1. Testing is also important to reducing the spread of the virus. Those returning from travel over break are strongly encouraged to test, as are those with symptoms or a known exposure.

Thank you for continuing to keep one another in mind and doing your part for the good of our campus community. We wish you all the best in the spring term.

Sincerely,
