Guide for Returning to the Campus Workplace—An update from the President's Reopening Task Force

July 15, 2020

Dear Faculty and Staff,

The President’s Reopening Taskforce has prepared a Guide for Returning to the Campus Workplace to provide information and resources for faculty, staff and student workers who will return to campus as part of the university’s reopening plans.

While our planning is ongoing and the guide is ready to share with you, we want to emphasize that we are continuing to closely monitor the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in the region and nationally. Our intent is to finalize most key decisions for the planned reopening by the end of the month and share any changes in our planning with you before the start of August. As has been shared previously, we will be prepared in the event circumstances require us to move to all virtual instruction prior to or after the start of fall classes.

In this return-to-work guide you will find information about the phased reopening of university operations, health and safety guidance, campus hygiene, social distancing protocols, face coverings, the university’s Safe Start Health Check tool and other measures that the university is putting in place in light of COVID-19. Please read this guide carefully while making plans for the fall. The information in the guide is current as of the date of publication. Public health conditions and directives from the government will likely prompt occasional changes to policies, protocols and guidelines. Continue to monitor the Seattle U COVID-19 webpage for any important updates. Thank you for your support and commitment to our students and our SU community during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Shane P. Martin
