Opening Safely: Don’t Wait to Vaccinate

As we continue to prepare for next fall and a return to a primarily in-person mode for both instruction and the student experience, it is important that our campus community members get vaccinated as soon as possible.

As recently announced, all students who will be on campus this fall are required to be fully vaccinated and register their vaccination status prior to the start of fall classes (medical and religious exemptions will be accommodated). Students are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated at their earliest convenience to be sure they meet this requirement. We also want to remind international and other students who may have extra challenges getting vaccinated before fall that the university is ready and committed to working with you.

And Please Register Your Status Once Fully Vaccinated…

While SU continues to evaluate its vaccination policy beyond students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to get fully vaccinated and register their vaccination status prior to our fall opening so the university can better protect the campus community.

Read more here about where you can get vaccinated, a need for volunteers at the Lumen Field and other information on vaccinations and testing.

Campus Remains Under Strict COVID-19 Protocols

While we hope everyone is looking forward to the fall opening and return to campus, campus remains essentially closed for spring and summer with a limited number of students, faculty and staff present. It is important to remind all community members who are on campus of the restrictions on in-person campus gatherings, programs and events. Only smaller informal gatherings that fall within and fully meet current public health guidelines are permitted. These restrictions and guidelines are in place to protect our campus community and we appreciate your close adherence to them.
