Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

On behalf of the President’s Reopening Task Force, we are pleased to announce the creation of the COVID-19 Containment and Prevention Working Group (C-CAP).  This working group will monitor and assess the university community’s adherence to and compliance with the elements of the university’s Safe Start Plan.  This includes, but is not limited to, policies and protocols relating to social and physical distancing, symptom monitoring, daily screening, testing, contact notification and tracing, cleaning and disinfecting, face coverings, PPE, quarantine and isolation protocols, hygiene practices, training, and communication.  The C-CAP  will monitor state and federal guidelines and recommendations and will focus on continuous quality improvement of our COVID health and safety practices at SU.  They will consult with other areas on campus as necessary and appropriate.

The C-CAP will be led by Tara Hicks, ARNP and Director of the Student Health Center and Josh Halbert, Assistant Director of Campus Public Safety.  Other committee members include: Tim Albert, HRL; Kristen Kirst, MarCom; David Lance, OUC; Sarah Pfau, Athletics; Mary Petersen; VPUC; Megan van der Sluys, HR; Rob Schwartz, Facilities; and James Willette, Dean of Students.

The C-CAP has established a COVID Containment and Prevention email box COVIDhelp@seattleu.edu where members of the campus community can report concerns or make suggestions about campus health and safety and adherence to COVID-19 policies and protocols.

Sincerely,

Tim Leary                      Shane Martin
