Changes in Surveillance Testing for Students Begin Next Week

March 4, 2022

Dear Redhawk,

Weekly surveillance testing will change beginning next week. Students living in the residence halls who are fully vaccinated will be selected at random for testing weekly beginning next week.

What is changing:

  • Students living in residence halls who are fully vaccinated do not test and submit test results every week beginning next week.
  • We are returning to a 10% random sample of residential students who are fully vaccinated. Students required to test will receive an email the Friday before notifying them of the need to test the following week. First email will come out this afternoon.
  • If you receive an email directing you to test, then you are required to test that week. More details will be in that email.

What is not changing:

  • Students with approved exemptions, who are not fully vaccinated, or who have not submitted documentation of their primary series are required to continue submitting weekly test results.
  • All students should continue to test immediately if you experience symptoms.
  • All students should continue to test 5 days after a known exposure or sooner if you develop symptoms.
  • If you test positive, notify COVID-19-report@seattleu.edu ASAP.

Thank you,

COVID testing staff
