6 Things to Know, New Health Status Section of COVID Response Site

August 19, 2021

We are in a rapidly evolving COVID situation with the increasing spread of the Delta variant. The university’s COVID response team and Opening Task Force are continually evaluating the latest public health recommendations and requirements to determine what additional steps or measures may be needed in the near term. As we prepare to welcome everyone for fall opening, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

6 Things to Know

  1. Everyone who is on or coming to campus is required to complete the Safe Start Health Check daily through the fall quarter.
  2. Face coverings are required indoors on campus for everyone, as previously announced and consistent with Governor Inslee’s directive this week. We are awaiting additional information on the state's latest vaccination requirements, which allows only a medical or religious exemption for faculty and staff.
  3. SU's COVID confirmed cases dashboard is updated in real-time. To report confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19, please e-mailcovid-19-report@seattleu.edu. If you are a close contact of someone who tests positive, our trained and experienced Public Safety response team will make sure you are notified.

  4. The best way to protect yourself and others is to get fully vaccinated.
  5. Please keep others in mind by adhering to public health and university protocols. The Delta variant is highly transmissible and can be spread by fully vaccinated individuals.
  6. Have a specific question? Read our FAQs to find answers.

New Campus Signs Direct You to SU’s COVID Requirements

A “Health Advisory Status” section has been added to SU's COVID Response/Fall Opening site that features the most current requirements on face coverings, the Safe Start Health Check and vaccinations. New campus signs include a QR code that links members of the campus community and visitors to the page so they have the most up-to-date information on what is required. Please continue to follow and adhere to the changing requirements necessary to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on campus.
