The Commons asked some early adopters of SU's new Fitness Center for their first impressions of the facility. Leilani Balais, assistant director of Alumni Relations, was kind enough to get the ball rolling. Here's what she had to say:
The new William F. Eisiminger Fitness Center is a great addition to the Archbishop Connolly Complex. It’s a reflection of Seattle University’s commitment to the holistic development and health of it
It’s built, open and already drawing rave reviews. Now, it’s time to properly dedicate the new William F. Eisiminger Fitness Center. You are invited to join President Stephen Sundborg, S.J., and others for a special ceremony from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. Take a tour of the new facility and enjoy light refreshments. RSVP by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 296-6152.
We have students, faculty, staff and alumni who believe in the importance of physical activity, and being able to exercise (no pun intended) this commitment through a new recreational facility speaks volumes. The new Fitness Center looks amazing both in and out.
I love the fact that I no longer have to wait to use an elliptical or treadmill during what’s considered thebuilding’s peak times (lunch and afternoons). There is a variety of machines that allow you to diversify your workouts, both on the cardio floor and the weight floor. And of course, who wouldn’t want to watch the Redhawk soccer teams defeat our opponents while going for a run on one of the new treadmills that has built-in tv screens.
The new facility is a win-win for Seattle University.
