Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jodi Kelly has been appointed Dean of Matteo Ricci College (MRC), effective Monday, January 2, 2012.

Dr. Kelly has served as Interim Dean of MRC since June of this year. During this period, Dr. Kelly has demonstrated a deep appreciation for, and understanding of, the unique character and mission of the college. She has provided highly effective leadership and shown the capability to work successfully with the faculty of MRC, the college's many consortium partners and the broader university community.

Dr. Kelly has been a member of the Seattle University community since 1984. She is a proven scholar and educator, teaching an array of courses in MRC and serving as Assistant Dean and Associate Dean for 12 and 15 years, respectively. Her record of exceptional service to the university was recognized with the 2011 Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year Award. Her long history with the college and demonstrated leadership abilities, in combination with her great passion for the mission of the college and the university, make her the right person to lead MRC into its future.
