Marilyn Crone was named interim associate provost for enrollment management on Jan. 5. Crone brings a wealth of experience working with institutions of higher education. She succeeds Jim White, who left the university after two-plus decades of dedicated service to become director of financial aid at Gonzaga University. Crone's selection was announced by Provost Isiaah Crawford. The full announcement follows.

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

I am pleased to announce that Marilyn Crone has been selected to serve as Interim Associate Provost for Enrollment Management, effective today. Marilyn, who will serve in this leadership position until June 30, will play a key role in carrying out Seattle University’s commitment to attracting and retaining a smart, promising and diverse body of students. She will oversee enrollment operations while we conduct a national search to identify the next leader of this important area within the university. The search process will begin this winter, and we hope to have someone in place by July 1, 2010.

With more than 12 years of experience working at independent universities, Marilyn is a seasoned and highly successful administrator and enrollment management specialist. From 2006-2009, she was Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management at Trinity Western University, British Columbia. Prior to that, she worked at Baylor University for eight years in a variety of senior-level leadership roles, including Vice President of Enrollment and Retention Management. She has also served as an enrollment consultant for numerous colleges nationwide.

Earlier in her career, Marilyn spent 15 years in financial services with Bank of America as a senior vice president and senior commercial lender. She is a graduate of Baylor University, where she earned her BBA and MBA.

Please join me in welcoming Marilyn to Seattle University.

Isiaah Crawford, Ph.D.
