On Sept. 1, 2010, James St. Center, better known to Seattle University faculty and staff as "The Little Blue House," was reduced to a pile of rubble. The building, which was vacant since last year, previously had been used by some members of University Advancement and earlier by the International Student Center. The controlled demolition, which took a few hours, was particularly cheered by the staff who worked within its sometimes rat-infested walls.
While the university's longterm plans for the site are still being worked out, in the more immediate future the property will accommodate the trailer that will support the construction of the new rec center.
