Charles Tung publishes, prepares for presentations

Charles Tung, associate professor of English, has published "Baddest Modernism: the Scales and Lines of Inhuman Time" in Modernist Inhumanisms, a special issue of Modernism/Modernity 23.3 (2016), the official journal of Modernist Studies Association. Tung will be presenting a paper on time-lapse aesthetics at Timescales: Ecological Temporalities Across Disciplines, a conference hosted by the Penn Program in the Environmental Humanities at the University of Pennsylvania. He also organized the linked panels "Modern Futures I:  Race, Time, and Human Scale" and "Modern Futures II:  Race, Time, and Inhuman Scale" at the Modernist Studies Association 18th Annual Conference in Pasadena, Calif.  There he will present a paper on "Race, Anthropogenesis, and Extinction in Post-Holocene Modernism."
