Bellarmine Check-in: Regular check-in begins at 1 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m. However, if you arrive later than 11 p.m., you may make advance arrangements for a late check in by contacting the Conference and Event Services Office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, or between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Fridays, at email@example.com or 206-296-5620. If you are unexpectedly delayed on the day of your arrival and therefore have not made advance arrangements, you may still go to Bellarmine Hall and use the phone next to the door to call Public Safety (the number will be posted, but it is 206-296-5990). Instructions will also be posted at Bellarmine’s entrance to ensure you are able to check in no matter what time you arrive.
Bellarmine Check-out: All guests must check-out by 10 a.m. All your belongings must be removed from your room, and your key must be returned to the Bellarmine front desk by 10 a.m. on the day of your check out. Limited luggage storage is available behind the desk on a first-request basis. We are sorry, but we cannot store luggage overnight.
Since many interns will be with us for a long stay, we know you might wish to bring a number of your possessions. Large bins will be available for check-out from the Bellarmine front desk to help you move your belongings from a vehicle to your room. Bins must be returned to the front desk.
When you arrive, you will be issued a room key and a Conference Card. Your room key will open your room door and is specifically assigned to you; if you have a roommate, that person will have their own specific key. Please bring your room key to the front desk at check-out in the envelope in which it was provided, or you will be charged a replacement fee of $175.00 (plus tax) for a new lock. If you leave your key in your room at check-out, it will be listed as “lost” and a replacement fee will be issued.
Your Conference Card will open the exterior doors of Bellarmine Hall and give you access to the elevators as well (for security purposes, the elevators can only go to residence floors if a programmed card is used). Your Conference Card will also be programmed with your meal plan funds. Meal hours for the available food service outlets on campus will be displayed in Bellarmine Hall and will be posted online as well. If you lose your card, the replacement fee is $20.00 plus tax. Please notify the staff at Bellarmine Hall immediately if you should lose your card so that building access can be turned off and so that any meal funds you have on your account cannot be used.

If your plans for housing change, please remember to contact the Conference and Event Services Office. Requests for refunds must be received, in writing, by the Seattle University Conference and Event Services office by no later than 21 days prior to your check-in date. (For example, if your check-in date is June 22, 2020, you may not request a refund after June 1, 2020.)
Refunds will be granted less the $100.00 non-refundable deposit, and will be given in the same tender in which they were received. No refunds will be made for requests received after 21 days prior to your check-in date.

Only those guests 21 years of age and older are permitted to consume alcoholic beverages, and only in private bedrooms of residences. Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed in lounge areas of residence halls or anywhere else outside the residence halls on campus.
Seattle University is a non-smoking campus. The use or sale of Tobacco Products is prohibited on and within all Seattle University property. Products approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the uses of mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease are permitted under this policy. “Tobacco Products” includes cigarettes, cigars, pipes, all forms of smokeless tobacco, clove cigarettes, and any other smoking devices that use tobacco (e.g., hookahs), and nicotine delivery devices that simulate the use of tobacco (e.g., electronic cigarettes, vaping). If you are a smoker, you may ask the front desk staff for the closest off-campus areas where smoking is allowed.
Use and possession of marijuana in any form, either on campus or during any university-sponsored or affiliated activity, is prohibited.
You may not allow any other person(s) to remain overnight in your room for more than three (3) nights. Allowing someone to stay longer than three (3) nights without prior written consent from the University so will result in your being assessed additional lodging and penalty charges. Minors who are not participants in a Program that has contracted with Seattle University may not stay in campus accommodations, even as guests.
Animals are generally prohibited in all campus buildings. Exceptions to this general prohibition include animals that qualify as “service animals” under the Americans with Disabilities Act and animals considered “emotional support animals” under the Fair Housing Act. Animals that qualify as “service animals” under the Americans with Disabilities Act are generally allowed in campus buildings. Animals that qualify as “emotional support animals” are generally prohibited from all campus buildings, with the limited exception that they may be allowed in campus residence halls in certain circumstances as a reasonable accommodation for a disability. “Service animals” and “emotional support animals” must meet all requirements for such animals under university policy, including appropriate documentation from a healthcare provider explaining the need for the animal as well as appropriate documentation regarding the animal’s training and health history. The Registrant must obtain permission in writing in advance of check-in if planning to bring any animal on campus. Most rooms in Bellarmine Hall are physically set up as double rooms, with furniture for two people. If you have paid for a single room, you might still have two beds, but no one else will be assigned to share your room. The following list shows what most rooms contain:
The basement level of Bellarmine Hall is equipped with a computer lab, lounge, kitchen (with ice machine), and laundry facility. If you wish to access the computer lab, just request an access card at the front desk. An access password will be provided to you at check-in to log into the SU Guest Network; this same login and passcode will allow you to use any public campus computers. Please change your password after the first time you log in; if you neglect to do so, the campus network will shut you out of future access. Printing, copying, and scanning services are also available at the front desk for a small fee.
Each floor in Bellarmine has three bathroom facilities: two shared bathrooms – one for males and one for females – and one private, accessible bathroom that doubles as a gender-neutral space. Floors in Bellarmine are typically multi-gendered.
Your floor in Bellarmine also has a lounge equipped with tables, chairs, couches, and a television.
Laundry facilities in Bellarmine are now operated through PayRange, a Bluetooth-to-machine payment method downloadable as an app onto your smartphone. Once downloaded onto your phone, you may deposit money onto your PayRange account in increments of $5.00, and activate your washer or dryer of choice digitally.
The front desk offers additional amenities available for rent by the week on a first-request basis. You may rent an iron with ironing board; hair dryer; or Keurig coffee/tea maker with tea/coffee making supplies and a mug you are welcome to keep. While you are renting the Keurig, you may request your choice of tea or coffee, plus sweetener and/or creamer, at the front desk.
Eisiminger Fitness Center is located a short walk from Bellarmine Hall at 550 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98112 . The facility includes indoor courts, fitness equipment, and an indoor pool. A special rate has been extended for interns; the cost is $65 for the entire summer quarter. Stop by the Bellarmine front desk for information on obtaining a pass. Eisiminger is only available to persons 18 years and older, and users must complete and submit a waiver before they are allowed access.

Please be sure senders allow at least one extra business day for delivery to you. Mail is not delivered to the residence hall on weekends. Mail that is not retrieved by you during your stay will be returned to the sender.
A valid permit must be purchased for all times in which a Registrant's vehicle is parked in campus lots. Permits may be obtained at the front desk of the residence in which the Registrant is staying, as long as the Registrant provides the accurate number and state of the vehicle's license plate. All vehicles must be parked in campus parking areas designated by the University. The University is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or their contents.
The University’s facilities comply with all applicable laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, which require reasonable accommodation of persons with disabilities. You are responsible for notifying the University of any requests for reasonable accommodation that would require modification of University facilities. Such notification must be made at least six (6) weeks in advance of check-in so that the University can consider the request, determine whether the requested modification constitutes a reasonable accommodation or creates an undue hardship, and can enter a dialogue regarding the requested accommodation, if necessary. Not all campus facilities are equipped to accommodate individuals with special needs. The University reserves the right to assign persons needing special accommodations to appropriate facilities that may be separate from other interns. If notice is not provided by the deadline, the University may not be able to accommodate requests for special accommodations. The Seattle University Campus Store has all sorts of supplies, including clothing, food, books, electronics, and personal supplies. Coupons for 15% off are available at the Bellarmine front desk; just ask!
Weather in Seattle is typically very mild. Summer is usually comfortably warm, but Seattle can sometimes be subject to heat waves, for which you should dress accordingly. A fan is provided to each room for those few days when the temperature climbs above the 70s.
Because we are so close to the coastline, it does cool down quite a bit in the evenings, so it is best to be prepared for that as well. It does sometimes rain— the average summer rainfall is 1.1 in/2.8 cm, therefore an umbrella or rain jacket may be of use on occasion.
The sun is usually up rather early (about 5 a.m.) until late (about 9 p.m.). If you have trouble sleeping when it is not fully dark, you may wish to bring an eye mask.
If your family or friends need to reach you in case of an emergency, they may call the front desk (Bellarmine: 206-296-6280) anytime from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., every day, including holidays. Our staff will do our best to locate you immediately during your program.
