CEJS Fellowship

Each year CEJS sponsors two or three SU students to conduct sustainability-focused research. The 2016-2017 student fellows did research on a sustainability strategic framework for the Los Angeles Football Club (Mark Thorrington) and on the environmental health impacts of clean stoves with external ventilation systems in Guatemala (Jackeline Lopez). Learn more about the CEJS Fellowship program and what it is like to be a student fellow here.

Bon Appétit Fellowship

 

Interested in food sustainability? Bon Appétit is looking to hire two new fellows! Fellows serve as a resource to Bon Appétit chefs, managers and guests interested in understanding or strengthening sustainability-related programs and/or launching new initiatives in their cafes. Communications & Engagement Fellow at SPLC

The Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC) is seeking a fellow for Summer 2017 to assist with communications and engagement. A stipend of $4,000 is given for the 10 week full-time period. Requirements include Microsoft software skills and current enrollment in or recent graduate from a relevant graduate or undergraduate degree program (supply chain management, sustainability, etc.), or a demonstrated understanding of procurement and supply chain functions and processes, and sustainability concepts. National Wildlife Federation's EcoLeaders Program

National Wildlife Federation's EcoLeaders Program is currently seeking graduate students to support our NWF EcoLeader Program through the following four Fellowship opportunities. Each fellowship is for a term of 4 -6 months (based on student schedule), roughly 40 hours/month. The fellow will receive a $3,000 stipend, professional development assistance and networking opportunities, and the possibility of academic credit for successful completion of the project, as an independent study or integration of fellowship project into course curricula. Learn more and apply here.

PhD Scholarship: Cultural Ecosystem Services

The Jarchow Lab at the University of South Dakota is seeking an innovative and hard-working student to be part of the first cohort of students in a graduate program in sustainability that is being developed at USD.  The PhD position is fully funded for four years at $22,000 per year.  The position has a flexible start date from summer 2017 through January 2018. Learn more.

William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students

The Aspen Institute Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation (PSI) in Washington, DC offers the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship to one student three times annually. The fellowship, based on academic excellence and need, is open to both undergraduate and graduate students of color. PSI seeks to introduce a diverse group of students to issues and challenges affecting philanthropy, social enterprise, nonprofit organizations, and other actors in the social sector. Recipients may arrange with their colleges or universities to receive academic credit for this experience. The application deadline for Fall 2017 wil open in August. Check here for more information.

Post-Landfill Action Network

The Post-Landfill Action Network in Dover, NH is a nonprofit network of students working towards zero waste on college campuses. They are currently looking for graphic design, campus coorination, and partnership development fellows. Compensation is a $4,500 stipened for 12 weeks. This year's deadline is June 18th, 2017. Learn more.

Bullitt Center Environmental Fellowship

The Bullitt Environmental Fellowship is a two-year, $50,000/year fellowship for graduate students interested in pursuing leadership positions within the environmental field. Applications must be submitted through the Online Application Portal on or after January 1, and must be submitted NO LATER THAN April 1. Inquiries may be directed to: info@bullitt.orgLearn more.

UNHSI Sustainability Fellows

The program pairs graduate and upperclass undergraduate students from throughout the U.S. with municipal, educational, corporate, and NGO partners in New England to work on innovative climate change and sustainability initiatives.  This is a summer opportunity for experiential learning, professional development, and mentorship, which also provides a stipend to help cover living expenses.  As you’ll see, this year’s 22 projects run the gamut from scientific research to policy to outreach, and from climate to water to health. Nathan Cummings Foundation 

The Nathan Cummings Foundation Fellowship supports visionary leaders by giving them boundless space to turn an inspired idea in the field of social justice into a world-changing reality. The Fellowship awards three individuals up to $150,000 each to pursue an innovative project that seeks to address a challenge related to climate change or inequality – or within the intersection of these two major issues. An NCF Fellowship must align with at least one of the Foundation’s core focus areas: Inclusive Clean Economy; Racial and Economic Justice; Corporate and Political Accountability; and Voice, Creativity and Culture. Learn more.
