Exam Flexibility Needed Due to AWS Outage

On December 7, 2021, Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a major outage which impacted Seattle University's Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas. Because of this outage, many students were prevented from taking their final exams in Canvas as scheduled.

Per guidance from Academic Affairs, for timed exams where faculty choose to retain Canvas, faculty are encouraged to extend the overall window in which the exam may be taken to 72 hours. Settings may be used to ensure a student has only a set period of time between beginning and completing the exam.
