Joe Archibald’s course, UCOR 3849: Global Water Supply, requires that students produce a considerable amount of work to demonstrate they are mastering course concepts. Students start by finding, charting, mapping and visualizing data to consider the impacts of regional water policies. In addition, Jo’s assignments are designed so that students can share and reflect on each other’s work. At the bottom of the page you will see an example of Jo using a Padlet so that students can post some of their early explorations. Jo’s course overview page does a nice job of articulating the course rationale and prepares students for what will happen during the course. On this page Jo also includes a relaxed and welcoming video that sets the tone for the course.
