In addition to our quarter-long Course Design Program we also offer a variety of workshops and other events in our Lab. Below is an overview of each kind of activity along with links to full descriptions. All of these events can also be found on the CDLI Calendar. We hope to see you in the lab soon.
These are quick (1 - 1.5hr) workshops that cover everything from Canvas basics to creating interactive videos to ensuring that your course is copyright compliant to using our new web conferencing tool, Zoom. Register if you want to make sure you have a spot but otherwise feel free to drop in without registering. We would love to see you. Here is the list of available Express Workshops.
Sometimes you can't make it into the lab for a particular workshop or you need advice about something specific to your course. For those times we offer six half-hour individual consultations a week during our Open Lab Hours. Check the CDLI Calendar for available times or see a list of Individual Consultation times.
What could be more useful than learning how teaching with technology works on the ground? We've asked some of our faculty from the Course Design Program to share their experiences teaching online, hybrid and web-facilitated courses. These are noontime brownbags with plenty of time for questions so don't miss them! We'll put out coffee and treats. For dates and details see our Faculty Presentations page.
We offer Open Lab Hours 3 - 4 days a week. Times vary to accommodate a variety of schedules so check our Calendar for dates and times. During Open Lab Hours feel free to drop by and use one of our lab computers. Many faculty like to use our lab as a quiet out-of-office retreat space where they can get work done. We are not always available for questions during Open Lab Hours but will be glad to answer any when we are.
