DVR Collaboration 2020-22

Overview

In July 2020, CCTS received a contract award to provide professional development training to the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and education staff as guided by Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The overall goal is to increase the availability, accessibility, and coordinated delivery of pre-employment transition services (Pre-ETS) to potentially eligible students with disabilities in Washington.

Aligning IEPs and HSBPs: Working Together

Nov. 3, 2021, 3-4:30 p.m. PT

The High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) is a graduation requirement for every student in Washington state. Plans are student-facing, student-driven, and personalized to help youth set, visualize, and work to achieve postsecondary goals. The Individualized Education Program (IEP) has a similar component to provide the student with skills necessary to reach their postsecondary goals.

In this DVR-sponsored workshop, CCTS and OSPI will guide DVR and school district personnel through the alignment of the HSBP and IEP with a focus on best practices and collaboration. In addition, participants will explore real-world examples and discover ways that school teams and DVR can collaborate to develop and strengthen student success and identify available Pre-ETS activities to support the student in the attainment of their goals. It is suggested that DVR and the educators they work with attend together.

This webinar will be live-captioned and ASL-interpreted.

Due to funding, participation is limited to Washington state DVR and school district staff only.

QuIST Collaboration Workshop

April 6, 2022, 3-4:30 p.m. PT

The Quality Indicators for Secondary Transition (QuIST) is a free program improvement tool developed by CCTS that enables school districts to self-evaluate their transition services for students with disabilities. It is not used for compliance monitoring. Districts can complete the QuIST using a computer-scored Excel workbook. The workbook includes formulas that auto-calculate the results and display them on a summary scoresheet.

In this DVR-sponsored workshop, DVR and school district personnel will be introduced to the process for completing the QuIST. It is suggested that DVR and school teams come together to learn the QuIST components. DVR can use the information from the QuIST to identify gaps in service delivery for Pre-Employment Transition Services.

This webinar will be live-captioned and ASL-interpreted.

Due to funding, participation is limited to Washington state DVR and school district staff only.
