Recap of October 8 Seminar: Voices from the Field
Each of us – whether it’s a school, district, educator or administrator – is continually learning what makes inclusion work. And one of the most impactful ways we learn is by hearing and seeing how others have approached inclusionary practices in their context. It helps us take theories and ideas and turn them into practice.
On October 8, we brought together a panel of speakers from across the state for a conversation about how they got started with inclusion, specifically talking about partnership between CTE and Special Education.

How to be "All In" as an Inclusive Leader!
One of our Inclusionary Practices Project partners is the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP). AWSP is offering a great learning opportunity where we will have a chance to connect with other inclusive leaders and learn best practices.
“How To Be 'All In' As An Inclusive Leader!” is a free five-part professional learning series featuring International film maker, Dan Habib. Habib is the creator of the award-winning documentary films Including Samuel; Who Cares About Kelsey?; Mr. Connolly Has ALS; and many other films on disability-related topics.
Sessions will be held once per month. Topics include:
- Session 1: Disabling Segregation
- Session 2: Creating a Culture of Inclusion in Schools and Communities
- Session 3: Inclusive School Leadership
- Session 4: Creating a Road Map for Inclusive IEPs
- Session 5: Action! Effective Practices in Transition
