Mentoring Objectives & Scope
I want to be a resource. The topics, number of meetings, and support offered will be created by the person with whom I work. I simply want to be part of this person's support system as they discover what type of career they want.
When and where do you hold meetings with your students?
I am open to meeting at a time and place that is most convenient for the person being mentored. They are welcome to meet me on the Lakeside campus. With previous mentees, I have met them near Seattle U in the evenings at a restaurant (my treat).
I view the work that I do in athletics in the same way that I viewed my work as a principal. We are teaching students lessons that they will carry with them for life. Coaches have powerful influence (often times more than teachers), so doing this work well is my main focus.
