After three years serving as associate dean and acting associate dean of the Albers School of Business and Economics, Mary Rivers returned to her faculty position teaching statistics and economics in 2003. Prior to being appointed acting associate dean, she taught statistics and microeconomics at Albers and served as undergraduate program chair plus director of the Masters of Arts in Applied Economics Program. She has published articles in the Quarterly Journal of Economics and Finance, the Journal of Economics and Business, and the Cornell Quarterly. During her tenure at Seattle University, Dr. Rivers has served as president of the Seattle Economist Club, program co-chair of the Northwest Regional Conference, on the Board of Directors of the Evergreen Treatment Center and the on the Seattle City Light Forecast Committee. She has received the Albers'; Service Award and the Distinguished Teaching Award. She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, a business honorary and was a National Science Foundation fellow in graduate school.
