Personal Bio

David W. Arnesen has received numerous awards for teaching excellence. Professor Arnesen has been named MBA Professor of the Year seven times and Undergraduate Business Professor of the Year five times in the Albers School of Business. In 2007, he received the University Distinguished Teaching Award from the Seattle University Alumni Association.

In 2014 Professor Arnesen was selected as a Fulbright Specialist by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Department of State, and the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars. His teaching expertise includes negotiations, leading responsible organizations, international business, business ethics, competitive strategy, and real estate. He teaches internationally in the areas of negotiations and business ethics.

Professor Arnesen’s articles have appeared in several publications including the American Business Law Journal, the Journal of Legal Studies Education, the Academy of Management Executive, and the Journal of Law, Business & Ethics, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and the Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences.

Professor Arnesen is the former chair of the Department of Management and acting dean of the Albers School of Business & Economics (2000-01). Professor Arnesen also served from 2013 to 2020 as chair of the Seattle University’s Athletic Advisory Board and the Faculty Athletic Representative to NCAA and Western Athletic Conference.
