“Leaders aren’t born; they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.” These famous words by Vince Lombardi are inspiration for Komal Ram. Komal most recently served as Director, Brand Experience for Alaska Airlines and in this role, lead a team responsible for how the Alaska brand appeared in over 110 airports Alaska Airlines operated in. She also lead Alaska’s airport lounges team. Prior to this role, Komal had grown as a leader at Alaska the past 12 years in different areas, including HR, sales, financial analytics, and most recently consumer marketing. Her breadth of experience, forward-thinking vision, and belief that the core responsibility of a leader is to be the hardest-working servant helped Komal effectively execute on a holistic business strategy. Komal has a B.A. from the University of Washington’s Foster’s School of Business and in 2004 received her MBA with an emphasis in marketing. In 2015, Komal was part of the first team of cohorts in the Young American Leadership Program at the Harvard Business School.
