Ashley Burns is the director of RALLY’s Seattle office, bringing more than a decade of communications and marketing experience specializing in community and influencer engagement, media events and storytelling, and shaping perceptions within ambivalent or disconnected audiences.
RALLY is a communications firm that works to influence the way people think about and respond to political and social issues. We collaborate with inspiring partners to create powerful movements that galvanize the public and leave a legacy of positive change. Our team consists of experts in political, media and digital strategy. Our clients are leading foundations, advocacy organizations, philanthropists, high-profile individuals, and commercial entities that strive to influence public policy, public discourse, and public opinion. They have engaged us to build advocacy organizations from the ground up, to develop messaging and execute communications campaigns of all levels, and to help them develop events and social media strategies and reach influencers of all stripes. Most of our clients have worked with us for years and we’re proud to call them our friends.
Prior to joining RALLY, she served as an Account Director responsible for edtech campaigns, curated events and product launches including Minecraft, Hour of Code, OneNote Learning Tools, and Skype in the Classroom to name a few. She was also responsible for Microsoft education comms including SXSWedu, ISTE, LEGO, the Obama Administration White House and others. Before transitioning to edtech, it was just tech. Ashley led multiple Microsoft account teams focused on developers, hackers and startups. Her work included communications strategy and exec comms, community building and engagement, international media events, landscape research and analysis, and a wide variety of partner announcements such as NASA, Facebook, the Discovery Channel, TechCrunch and the Napa Valley Film Festival. Before the agency world, Ashley worked in-house on marketing, PR and design efforts in the built environment for Nintendo, Vulcan, Seahawks Stadium, University of Washington, the Pike Place Market, and Seattle Aquarium. She managed photography projects, marcom creation, message development, and supported crisis communications. Ashley graduated with honors from Seattle University with a degree in Marketing and Japanese. Outside the office, she serves as an HI-USA Explore the World Scholarship committee member to help disadvantaged local youth travel abroad.
