Innovating On: How Our Programs are Adapting

March 30, 2020

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community,

What a wild time we are living in! With everything that is going on, we are foremost wishing you safe and healthy. Since our natural tendency in difficult times is to come together, it is ironic that physical distancing is the solution to this trying time. However, we are excited to see our friends and family fully embrace technologic solutions and virtual communication, sometimes for the first time.

Secondly, we want to let you know that the IEC is healthy and continuing to move forward! We are still holding all our events and programs - but are adapting them to be online experiences. For the Harriet Stephenson Business Plan Competition, we are holding the Semi-Finals Fast Pitch & Tradeshow on an online format, where you will be able to participate just as much as when the event was in person.

 Save the Date: APR 24th Semi-Finals - Fast Pitch (3-4pm) & Tradeshow (4-6pm)

  • Watch the pitches and visit the tradeshow all from the comfort of your home!
  • See a full list of Semifinalists
  • Vote for your favorite Team to win the Audience Choice Award!

The Finals & Awards event is still planned to be held in person- at The Collective on May 29th (4-7pm). We are making plans to move the event online if need be, so please stay in touch with us for updates!

Our other programs, such as RAMP.Up and the Jones Progress Awards are continuing with virtual modifications, but there are no changes to their core activities. Every Seattle University student, staff, and faculty member has SU Zoom and Teams accounts and we’re exploring all options for digital connections.

Innovation is at the heart of what we do, and nothing like COVID-19 can prevent us from doing so. After all, would we really be an innovation and entrepreneurship center if we let these things overcome us?

As always, we are ever grateful for your continued support. Keep safe, keep healthy, and keep nourishing the entrepreneurial spirit!

- The IEC Team
