Colette Hoption, PhD
Faculty Fellow - Associate Professor of Management
Building/Room: Albers School of Business and Economics, Seattle University, 901 12th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98122-1090
Drawing from her expertise in leadership and followership, Professor Hoption’s work during her fellowship will examine ethical leadership. She is interested in the way followers interpret their leaders' mistakes and wrongdoings, hence raising questions like, “Is there a maximum number of apologies a leader can make before being deemed ‘unethical’?” and “What matters more to follower perceptions of ethical leadership: whether a leader engages in ethical acts or whether a leader is unassociated with unethical ones?”
Professor Hoption’s work has been published in scholarly outlets like Journal of Applied Psychology, Leadership, and Leadership & Organization Development Journal, and also garnered media attention in The Wall Street Journal and Inc. magazine, among others.
