Bailadores de Bronce
Bailadores de Bronce is a Ballet Folklorico company that was founded in 1972 at the University of Washington by a group of students led by Josefina Jaramillo Alvarez. Inspired by the Civil Rights and Chicano movements, the students recognized the lack of a Mexican dance group at the university and wanted to share their pride in their Chicano heritage through music and dance. The group became a nonprofit organization around 2010. Bailadores de Bronce has been led by several long-term directors; most recently, Adrian Olivas became the Executive and Artistic Director in 2012.
