Michael Jaycox is a theological ethicist who joined the faculty of the Theology and Religious Studies Department in 2014, after having completed his doctoral studies at Boston College. Racial justice, bioethics/medical ethics, and emotions are his primary areas of applied ethical research and teaching specialization. His approach to these ethical questions is grounded in the values and methods of Catholic social ethics and liberation theologies.
His publications can be found in Developing World Bioethics, Horizons, Political Theology, Health Progress, and the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics. Moreover, he writes short essays as a regular contributor from the North American region of the Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church Forum. He is an active member of the Society of Christian Ethics, the Catholic Theological Society of America, and the College Theology Society.
