The Kinesiology Club aims to:
We typically meet once a quarter to hold a general meeting where students can network, discuss any upcoming Kinesiology Department programs, and brainstorm how we can promote our club and field on campus. Meetings are fairly informal and casual, as we want members to use it as a time to meet other students from the Sport and Exercise Science (SPEX) major.
March 1-2, 2019
Faculty, staff, and students from the Kinesiology Department will be traveling to Bend, OR for the American College of Sports Medicine Northwest Annual Meeting. The theme of this years’ conference is ‘Innovation, Application and Future of Physical Activity, Exercise and Sport.' The group will network with both current and new colleagues and support their collaborative research with the University of Oregon that is examining cardiopulmonary physiology. In addition to attending a breadth of academic presentations, the group will culminate this experience by hosting a departmental event where attendees will share the knowledge and experience they gained with those students who were not able to attend.
Calls to our out-of-state alumni in combination with in-person alumni to ask questions about their paths post-Seattle U, what their PT/OT school admission process was like, and what current SPEX students should be doing to improve their profile as a future health professional.
Fitness class activity facilitated by a SPEX alumni and current UREC personal trainer. It was a neat experience for us to ask questions about what personal trainer work looks like from a recent grad, along with getting a chance to get our sweat on during pre-finals week!
Prospective members can join through their ConnectSU account and requesting membership through our Club profile. Students can search Kinesiology Club in the search bar of ConnectSU, and find the "Join Club" button.
