Sheila Capestany is adjunct professor at Seattle University. She received her BA at Whitman College and her Master of Public Health and Master of Social Work from the University of Washington. Ms Capestany’s teaching interests stem from her 25+ years in both the public and human services sector in direct service, community organizing, nonprofit leadership, strategic planning and policy work. She has a broad range of experience and knowledge in the areas of equity, social justice, and health and wellbeing. Ms Capestany has previously taught graduate courses on Management and Leadership, and Maternal and Child Health Systems. In addition to her adjunct position, Ms Capestany serves as the Strategic Advisor for Children and Youth for King County and provides strategic direction and project management for King County’s Best Starts for Kids Initiative.
