Internship Opportunities

Are you interested in sustainability at Seattle University? Want to help tell the story about sustainability efforts and projects on campus? Use your video skills to produce one or two short videos for the Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability and earn 5 credits over this academic year 2017-2018!

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: Produce one or two videos about campus sustainability for SU’s Seattle University’s Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability (CEJS). The internship involves:      

  • Work with CEJS to create a storyline for a 2-2.5 min. video about campus sustainability programs and efforts
  • Research interviewees and conduct interviews
  • Write script
  • Research stock footage and shoot additional footage
  • Record voice over
  • Edit video

INTERNSHIP TITLE: CEJS Film Production Intern (2017)

INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Junior or senior Film Studies student (a minimum of Intro to Film Production I, preferably Intro to Film Production II or other more advanced production class)
  • Seattle University student with a passion for social, economic, and environmental justice and sustainability
  • Video production experience
  • Photography: Proficient with Sony DSLR or Panasonic  HDC-SD80 (or similar) Cameras
  • Editing skills: Proficient with Adobe Premiere

DURATION: Sep 25, 2017- June 8, 2018

HOURS PER WEEK: 6

COMPENSATION: Internship Credit (5 credits) for Graduation Requirements. This is a year-long internship as a 5 credit option for 1 student.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Plan and manage the production of a 2-minute promotional video from concept to completion.

PROFESSIONAL BENEFITS: At the end of the internship, you will have a completed product in hand to use in future film industry contacts. Your video will be presented at the bi-weekly New Employee Orientations at Seattle University; uploaded to SU’s Sustainability webpage; and used at SU and CEJS sustainability conferences and events.
