You are a few weeks away from beginning your 2 year journey in the MSAL Program. This page is designed to provide some important information and links, so please read it carefully. If you have any questions make sure to contact the department.  

SU Graduate Student Welcome   

Thursday, August 13, 2015| 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.| Pigott Auditorium/Atrium
On Thursday, August 13 there will be a Graduate Student Welcome event sponsored by Seattle University. MSAL faculty, don't attend these events, but they are a great way to get acquainted with what SU offers for graduate students and to get general questions answered. A few of you have already attended the June event. For those of you still wanting to connect prior to class, this is another opportunity. More details and a link to RSVP here. MSAL Orientation     

Tuesday, August 18, 2015 | 4:30 PM (Prior to first class meeting for SADL 5000) | Jefferson 401B
The MSAL Orientation begins promptly at 4:30pm on Tuesday, August 18. There will be light snacks and soft drinks available by 4:15pm. Please come a little early, meet up with your cohort and get ready to settle in for the evening. We will meet in the reception area for the MSAL program in 1401 E. Jefferson, Suite 401. The classroom for SADL 5000 is right there too. See campus map for details.

Canvas   

We use Canvas as MSAL course management system. There is a link to Canvas in the upper right hand portion of every SU page, use that link to access or click  here and save to your browser. Once you Log In using your SU username and password, you will find a link called "Courses and Groups" that will allow you to see a list of all the classes you are registered for.  Clicking on any course should take you to its homepage. From there it should be self-explanatory. Most courses have readings and assignments due before the first class. Remember that EVERY course in the MSAL program works this way.  

MSAL Fall Registration   

 
By now most students are already registered for both Fall classes. If you still need to register for SADL 5170 and SADL 5020 and are having any trouble, please email Rose Kaser, MSAL Operations Manager, at kaserr@seattleu.edu and CC Dr. Hanold at hanoldm@seattleu.edu    

Seattle University Email   

It is Seattle University policy that once you are registered, all communications must be done via SU email. Don't miss out on important info and begin checking your SU email account regularly!  
SU Students are provided with a single network account, this same username and password is used to login to computers on campus as well as SU email, Canvas, and SUOnline.
SUaccount passwords are set to expire every 90 days. You must change your password every 90 days! 
Students are Provided with an Office 365 account with 50 GB of storage and some great features.

SU Technology Support 

You will need access to Microsoft Word as this is the file type accepted by most MSAL faculty. Almost everything you turn in will be in electronic form. The review and comment features in Word facilitate faculty feedback. Seattle University offers students various access to Microsoft Office and Office 365. Please go to Technical Purchasing for details.
