MPA students may participate in an independent study. The process for adding an independent study requires that the student:
- Secure a full-time faculty member to advise you during the independent study.
- Create a scope of work/syllabus that includes which quarter, how many quarters (if necessary), number of credits, for the independent study—cannot be an MPA course currently on the schedule or in the curriculum.
- Registration requires the completion of the “Independent or Directed Study Internship Request” form found on the Registrar’s website. Attach the scope of work to the “Independent or Directed Study Internship Request” form.
- Submit signed and completed paperwork to the IPS office for further processing.
