Pathways to Professional Formation's featured event of the year!

A&S Graduate Student LinkUp is a structured, low-key, networking event that connects current graduate students with alumni of the College's graduate programs.

Meet alumni, discover shared interests, discuss professional plans and ideas, and grow your network.

This event is only for graduate students and is separate from the undergraduate event.

The two events occur on the same afternoon, but have different event schedules and locations.

Conversation Starters

We know that networking can feel awkward. Use these prompts to start your networking rounds more smoothly:

  • Briefly share your personal and professional history
  • Share highlights of your graduate experience: practicum and internship, conferences, research, etc.
  • Ask about the alumni's experience as a graduate student
  • Ask about the alumni's professional life. How did they get to where they are today?
  • Share tentative plans for your anticipated trajectory following graduation

Goal is to quickly move conversations into professional pathways and journeys.

Avoid surface level conversation topics such as the weather, sports, or how the day has gone.
