Human Resources Executive Director, WA Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction

The Human Resources (HR) Executive Director reports directly to the Chief of Staff and is responsible for leadership and oversight of OSPI HR functions. This position also manages HR functions and provides guidance to the State Board of Education (SBE), Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB), Paraeducator Board, Financial Education Public-Private Partnership (FEPPP), and the Charter School Commission.
 
The HR Executive Director serves as a liaison to, and a member of, OSPI's leadership team. The HR Executive Director actively participates in leadership meetings and collaborates with executive leadership, agency directors, and external partners. Additionally, the HR Executive Director manages complex HR issues, anticipates future workforce needs, and acts as a strategic partner in internal agency policy development and service delivery within the agency.
In order to support and advance the agency's mission and goals, the HR Executive Director provides expert advice to managers and supervisors while ensuring accurate and consistent application of, and compliance with, federal and state law, Washington Administrative Code (WAC), and agency policies.
