Doug completed his graduate education at Bowling Green State University in the Department of Kinesiology. His research focused on comparing muscle activity in various squat exercises. Doug has an extensive background in strength and conditioning and has coached at several institutions including BGSU, NSCA headquarters, the Olympic Training Center, and the University of Michigan. At Seattle University, Doug is teaching SPEX 1320, Health and Wellness, SPEX 1550, Introduction to Kinesiology, SPEX 3220, Principles of Resistance and Metabolic Training, and SPEX 4950, Internship.
