Scholarships

We are no longer accepting scholarship applications for the 2018-19 cycle.

Program Scholarships

The MFA Arts Leadership program offers two types of scholarships. Both are disbursed equally per quarter over the two years of the program. You may apply for both types of award, but you will only be eligible to receive one.

  • The MFA Scholar Award covers tuition for a total of 28 credits of the MFA program (or 14 credits each year). The selected applicants will demonstrate a capacity to be exemplary role models while in the program, the potential for excellence as arts leaders upon graduation, and the commitment to complete the Arts Leadership program within the two-year period of study. For the 2017-18 academic year, the total amount of this award was $19,600. Note this amount will change each year with the cost of tuition.
  • The MFA Financial Award provides $5,000 over the full two years of the program. The selected applicants will demonstrate their financial need along with a capacity for excellence in arts leadership and the potential to complete the Arts Leadership program within the two-year period of study.

Criteria for Eligibility: Students must be applying to the MFA Art Leadership program for Fall 2018 to be eligible for these funds. US citizens must file a 2018-19 FAFSA prior to submitting their scholarship application. International students must file a Declaration of Finances form with their application for the program.

In order to apply, you must complete an 2018-19 Scholarship Application Form, and submit it, along with the required documents, via email to MFAL-aid@seattleu.edu.

Deadline: March 15, 2018

Other Scholarships

Graduate Admissions also offers the Marylou Wyse Award. The recipients are selected by the MFA Arts Leadership program, and the number of awards given changes each year. This award is typically $4,800 and is disbursed in equal amounts over the two years of the program. Your application for the Scholar and Financial Awards is used for recommending MFA recipients of the Wyse awards. No additional application is required.
