Scholarships

We are now accepting scholarship applications for the 2019-20 cycle.

Program Scholarships

The MFA Arts Leadership program offers a variety of scholarships:

  • The MFA Scholar Award covers tuition for a total of 28 credits of the MFA program (or 14 credits each year). The selected applicants will demonstrate a capacity to be exemplary role models while in the program, the potential for excellence as arts leaders upon graduation, and the commitment to complete the Arts Leadership program within the two-year period of study. For the 2018-19 academic year, the total amount of this award was $10,080 per recipient. Note this amount will change each year with the cost of tuition.
  • The MFA Financial Award provides $5,000 over the full two years of the program. The selected applicants will demonstrate their financial need along with a capacity for excellence in arts leadership and the potential to complete the Arts Leadership program within the two-year period of study.
  • The Dr. Marylou Wyse Award is offered through the Graduate Admissions Office and provides each recipient up to $2,400 per academic year for no more than two academic years. Recipients are selected based on financial need and must maintain good standing, continuous enrollment of 3 credits per term, and a minimum of 12 credits per academic year

Criteria for Eligibility

Students must be applying to the MFA Art Leadership program for Fall 2019 to be eligible for these funds. US citizens must file a 2019-20 FAFSA prior to submitting their scholarship application. International students must file a Declaration of Finances form with their application for the program.

Students may apply for both the MFA Scholar and MFA Financial award but can only receive one scholarship. The Dr. Marylou Wyse Award does not require a separate application. By applying for the Scholar or Financial Awards, applicants are automatically eligible for the Wyse Award.

To Apply:

In order to apply, you must complete an 2019-20 MFA Scholarship Application Form and Information and submit it, along with the required documents, via email to MFAL-aid@seattleu.edu.
