Margaret M. Griffiths (CPA, CHC) is the Chief Financial Officer for The Charles and Emma Frye Free Art Museum, where she oversees Finance & Accounting, HR, IT, Security & Facilities, Café & Museum Store, and the multiple commercial real estate properties and private foundation investment portfolios that support the museum’s mission of free entry for all. Margaret has over twenty-five years of experience in working with, consulting to and serving on the staff and boards of a number of nonprofit organizations, including arts organizations, global and clinical health groups, environmental education centers and other non-profit organizations in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. As business partner with the Director/CEO of the Frye, she is responsible for the financial and administrative operations and management of the organization to optimize financial performance and long-term sustainability. Prior to joining Frye Art Museum, Ms. Griffiths served as CFO for a national medical consulting firm (QIO) and a medical reference and research laboratory specializing in the diagnosis of cancer. In addition, she has held management positions at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as well as a GE Capital insurance subsidiary. Past clients have included arts & cultural organizations, financial institutions, health organizations and governmental entities.
Ms. Griffiths is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. She has served as a lecturer in accounting and investments at several area universities, including Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Washington Extension School.
