Since my first trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2013, I’ve returned to the eastern city of Goma regularly to continue a longitudinal research project about the impact of vocational training on young women survivors of sexual assault and other forms of gender-based violence. With this research assistantship, I will have the student researcher work with me on data analysis, summarizing scholarly literature available on this topic, and preparing a written piece for inclusion in the manuscript/book project currently titled Centering Marginalized Women in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
