Jennifer DeYoung has been involved in the health care field for over 14 years and has an extensive policy and program management background. At Public Health-Seattle & King County, she serves as the Deputy Policy Director for the Department. As part of her role, she is co-leading implementation of Best Starts for Kids, a countywide levy for investing in prevention and early intervention for children, youth, families, and communities. Prior to coming to the county, she held various senior management roles at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. There, she managed multiple programs within the State’s Medicaid program including the State’s managed care contracts, quality improvement initiatives, and benefits policy administration. She has also served as a Senior Health Care Analyst with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) where she led a variety of projects including those on mental health parity, Medicare physician payment policies, and seasonal flu vaccine distribution, among others. Jennifer has a Masters in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in policy analysis and applied economics from Columbia University, as well as an undergraduate degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
