Student Profile: Isabel Gilbertson

Isabel Gilbertson, a current senior pursuing a BS in Psychology and a BA in Public Affairs, has been selected as a U.S. Student Fulbright Research Finalist for a fellowship in Vietnam for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Image of Isabel GilbertsonIsabel will conduct Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) behavioral health research in Vietnam at the Hanoi University of Public Health. In June, Isabel will graduate from Seattle University with honors and begin her Fulbright fellowship in September. After her grant, Isabel plans to complete a Master’s in Public Health and continue to lead discussions around disease research and health equity in the United States and abroad.

As a Fulbright participant, Isabel will conduct research, share knowledge, and foster meaningful connections across communities in the United States and Vietnam. Recipients of Fulbright awards are selected in an open, merit-based highly selective competition that considers academic and professional achievement, leadership potential, and record of service.

As a Fulbright participant, Isabel will join a rich network of Fulbright alumni filled with esteemed scholars, many of whom are leaders in their fields. Fulbright alumni include leaders that are making a difference in their communities and the world, including 61 Nobel Prize laureates, 89 Pulitzer Prize recipients, and 40 who have served as head of state or government.
