Biography

Dr. Willie Braun, cello, is a founding member of the Skyros Quartet. Currently in it's ninth concert season, Skyros actively performs and educates across the Puget Sound region. Willie is currently the cello instructor at both Seattle University and Edmonds Community College, and along with his Skyros colleagues, a co-artistic director of Chamber Music Madness. Willie received his Doctorate in Musical Performance from the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska in 2015, publishing his doctoral document, "The History of the Cello Endpin and Its Effect on Technique and Repertoire". Willie also holds degrees from Arizona State University (BM, cello performance, 2010) and the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin (MM, chamber music performance, 2012).
