About Us

Kinesiology Department

The Kinesiology Department believes in the motto, ‘exercise for life, exercise for everyone’ and we work hard with our students to provide an evidence-based perspective to how sport and exercise science can improve one’s life. Our courses often incorporate assessments and activities that have our students applying their knowledge of theory to the greater Seattle community, and in ways that improve health and health promotion. Practical experience is a key element in all our programs, including

  • the required 300 hours of internship experience for our Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science,
  • data collection, analysis and interpretation conducted in lab and real-world settings for the research track of the Master of Science in Movement Science, and
  • the 600 practical hours required for the clinical track of the Master of Science in Movement Science.

We also offer research through our Human Performance Lab, which is equipped with state of the art resources where students can apply what they learn in class.
