Assistant Professor Jonathan Pierce recently completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Denver where he studied the politics of hydraulic fracturing in Colorado, New York and Texas as well as teaching at the University of Denver. Dr. Pierce received a PhD in Public Affairs from the School of Public Affairs, University of Colorado Denver, an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a BA in Political Science and History from Loyola Marymount University. His current research examines the policy process and the politics of natural resource development and sustainability. He was born in Tacoma, Washington but grew up in Anchorage, Alaska where his family still lives.
