CE: Advanced Threat Assessment

 A Warm Thank You to our Recent Attendees -- Continuing Education: Advanced Threat Assessment & Management with Reid Meloy

The Seattle University Criminal Justice Department hosted its annual spring continuing education event on May 2nd, 2014 this year featuring J. Reid Meloy, author of numerous books and articles on psychopathy, violence, and risk assessment including The Psychopathic Mind (1988), The Rorschach Assessment of Aggressive and Psychopathic Personalities (1994), Violent Attachments (1992, 1997, 2002), The Psychology of Stalking (1998), The Mark of Cain (2001), and his recently published International Handbook of Threat Assessment (2014). Dr. Meloy also wrote the forward in Seattle University Criminal Justice Department Chair Jacqueline Helfgott’s recently published 4-Volume Criminal Psychology reference set. The event brought together an extraordinary mix of individuals and agencies including representatives from WA Department of Corrections, Seattle Police Department, WA Attorney General, US Probation and Parole, King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention, Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), ASIS International, Department of Homeland Security, Washington State Fusion Center, King County Sheriff, King County Public Health, Bellevue Police Department, Amazon, Microsoft, and other agencies as well as undergraduate and graduate Seattle University Criminal Justice students, faculty, and alumni. It was truly an exceptional day and a remarkable learning environment for students, faculty, alumni, and practitioners.
