The Development Intern works as a member of the Affiliate Development Team, working closely with the team and event volunteer committees. The intern works in the early planning stages of The MORE THAN PINK Walk in June of 2020 and Grace Notes Gala, March 7, 2020. The MORE THAN PINK Walk is one of the largest benefit events in Western Washington and Grace Notes is a black tie fundraising event that features a live and silent auction. This is a part time, 10-15 hour a week, unpaid and temporary position: January 2020 – March 2020 with the possibility of extension, scheduled days/times are flexible.

The PR intern will report and work closely with the Director of Communications to gain an introductory understanding of public relations, PR as a career, and the role of PR at a major symphony orchestra. This task-oriented part-time internship is 10–15 hours per week. The intern attends department meetings and all-staff meetings. In addition to gaining real-world experience, the intern will also have the opportunity to work with other members of the communications staff to explore skills related to publications, content creation, social media and videography/photography, depending on interest and experience.
