Saturday May 30, 2020 at 8:00pm

St. Joseph Parish | 732 18th Avenue East

We live in a time when our country is deeply divided around concepts of immigration, inclusion, and social and personal responsibility. This concert seeks to encourage our audience toward a deeper conversation on these issues, toward hope and toward action. ONLY ALL OF US explores these urgent contemporary issues with thought-provoking settings of American traditionals including Hard Times Come Again No More; Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor; and I Hear America Singing and beloved choral arrangements like Paulus’ The Road Home, performed alongside modern works like Abbie Betinis’ Journey Home and the cornerstone piece of the concert, Melissa Dunphy’s groundbreaking American DREAMers. “American DREAMers was commissioned by Philadelphia community choir PhilHarmonia (Mitos Andaya Hart, Director) to bring to light the stories of immigrants in the wake of anti-immigrant rhetoric... Five texts from five young Americans who were brought to America as children were chosen...and those texts were woven into a multi-movement work that honors their story and inspires hope, empathy, and action.” Graduating seniors will also be recognized at this final concert of our 2019-2020 season. Join us!
