  • ROTC Recognized as Outstanding Unit

    Seattle University’s Army ROTC unit received top honors for excellence for academic year 2009-10 from U.S. Army Cadet Command. The Order of the Founders and Patriots Award was announced by U.S. Army Major General James M. McDonald in a letter to Lt. Col. Eric Farquharson, Professor of Military Science. The ROTC program was selected as the best ROTC unit out of 273 other Army ROTC programs.  SU had previously won this award in 1997 and 2000.  

    Professor Farquharson, who joined the faculty in 2007, commands the ROTC unit and teaches the senior Cadets. Army ROTC, also known as the Department of Military Science, is in the College of Arts and Sciences, which offers 33 undergraduate and 7 advanced degrees.
