Beatrice Lawrence, who received her Ph.D. in Hebrew
Bible and Jewish Hermeneutics from Emory University, joins the faculty in the
Department of Theology and Religious Studies as an Assistant Professor. Her
theoretical expertise is in gender studies, literary criticism, and the
hermeneutics of interpretation. Prior to coming to the College of Arts and
Sciences, she was an Assistant Professor of Hebrew Bible at the Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles.
