English Professor Susan Meyers received an Artist Trust grant for 2014. The grant supports a month-long residency at the Millay Colony for the Arts.
Artist Trust, a not-for-profit organization, provides support for the contributions artists make to the lives of people in Washington state. Meyers is one of 15 artists “selected for their artistic achievement, dedication to an artistic discipline, and potential for further professional development.”
Meyers, class of 1999, received her MFA in Creative Writing and PHD from the University of Minnesota. She has published in Calyx, Dogwood, Oregon Humanities Journal, Wilderness House Literary Review, Rosebud Literary Magazine, The Minnesota Review, WomenArts Quarterly Journal, Gender and Education, and Community Literacy Journal. Meyers joined the English department in 2012.
The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers 41 undergraduate major degrees, 36 minors, and 6 master’s degrees, including an MFA in Arts Leadership. The English Department offers degrees in literature, creative writing, and film studies.
